Thanksgiving holds a special place in my heart—a time rich with tradition, family, and delicious memories. For decades, Ron and I hosted Thanksgiving, starting in the 70s, with a menu that hardly changed but always delivered the comforting, familiar flavors of the season.
Each year, I’d jot the menu on the front of a file card and the names of our guests on the back. Those cards are such treasures now! Every year felt unique, even though the menu stayed true to the classics: turkey, cranberries, green bean casserole, and of course, Conor Campbell’s famous spray cheese-filled celery—a tradition that’s held strong since he was just three years old. It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without it!

One dish that feels distinctly "mine" is the dressing. It’s not complicated—just sautéed sausage, mushrooms, celery, and onions mixed into StoveTop Stuffing with chicken broth—but it’s a flavor my boys could probably pick out of a lineup. (Yes, I’m that confident!) The recipe is simple, tasty, and a must-have on our table. If you’re curious, you’ll find the recipe in my cookbook and in the first comment below this post. 😍
Another staple I couldn’t imagine Thanksgiving without? My make-ahead mashed potatoes. Let me tell you, they’re a game-changer! No more last-minute mashing chaos in the kitchen. These potatoes are smooth, creamy, and ready to go when you are—just the way holiday cooking should be.
Speaking of recipes, my cookbook is officially shipping out to all of you who ordered! I’m so thrilled to share these beloved family dishes and traditions with your kitchens.
