There’s something special about family traditions, especially during the holidays. For us, it wouldn’t be Christmas morning without the smell of warm cinnamon and sugar filling the kitchen as we pull a bubbling, golden Monkey Bread out of the oven. This recipe has been a part of our Christmas morning for years, and it’s one of those treats that brings everyone running to the kitchen in their pajamas, ready for that first, sticky-sweet bite.
The best part? It’s easy to make! We start with refrigerated biscuit dough, coat it in cinnamon and sugar, then pour over a rich, buttery sauce. The whole thing bakes up into a pull-apart masterpiece that’s pure comfort food.
Here’s How We Make It:
4 tubes of refrigerated biscuit dough Cut each biscuit into quarters and roll them into little balls.
Cinnamon-Sugar Coating In a bowl, mix 3/4 cup sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon. Toss the dough balls in this mixture until they’re all well-coated and sweetened.
Assemble the Bread Spread the sugar-coated dough balls evenly in an ungreased bundt pan. Sprinkle any leftover cinnamon-sugar mix over the top for extra goodness.
Buttery Sauce In a saucepan, bring to a rolling boil:
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/4 cup evaporated milk
Stir it all together until smooth and bubbling, then pour this heavenly sauce over the dough balls in the pan. Bake right away – no waiting here!
Bake It Up
Pop the bundt pan into a 350°F oven and bake for about 30 minutes. The Monkey Bread will puff up and turn a lovely golden-brown color. When it’s ready, let it cool just a bit before turning it out onto a plate – but make sure it’s still warm for serving.
Serving Tip: Set it in the center of the table and let everyone pull off pieces – no knives needed! This is Christmas morning, after all, and we’re here to relax, savor, and make memories.
Why We Love This Recipe
